The Vision
Graduates Assisting Public Scholarship (GAPS) at Virginia Tech is a community of graduate students whose Passion and Enthusiasm for their scholarship compels them to share what they have learned with the public. GAPS seeks to facilitating engagement by connecting GAPS members with the public via this web site. GAPS students want to share the knowledge they have acquired during their graduate program with all members of the community including public schools, civic groups, and local government entities. GAPS is designed to give graduate students an opportunity to utilize their academic skills and knowledge by connecting them with members of the public who desire communication with the VT community. Participants in the program take the scholarship they have earned at VT and share it when invited to speak. Thus we are "Graduates Assisting Public Scholarship".
