Dr. Anne McNabb
Associate Dean of the Graduate School

Dr. Anne McNabb joined the Graduate School in January 2005. Dr. McNabb assists with the Transformative Graduate Education initiative and coordinates interdisciplinary programs and the GTA Workshop. She is also involved in recruiting and retention of graduate students and works with the dean and senior associate dean to make admission decisions, counsel faculty and students, interpret policies and procedures, and assist with the day-to-day management of the Graduate School.

McNabb holds a B.Ed. in secondary education, a B.S. in zoology from the University of Alberta, and a master's and Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biology at Yale University before joining the faculty at Virginia Tech. McNabb served as an assistant department head for graduate studies in biology for seven years, and she has been involved in a number of other graduate-relevant service roles at different levels of the university.
